Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Heroes Veritas mobile application (the “App”). By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You may create an account using an email and password or by signing in with Apple. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@heroesveritas.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
You may delete your account at any time from inside the App (Settings → ACCOUNT → Delete account) or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and cascades through all heroes, progress, purchases, and Chronicle entries.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm other users;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, our servers, or other users’ accounts;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App’s operation, except as expressly permitted by applicable law;
- Use the App to distribute malware, spam, or abusive content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.
4. In-app purchases and virtual items
The App offers in-app purchases of virtual items (such as Veil Essence). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are governed by Apple’s terms in addition to ours.
Virtual items have no monetary value outside the App, cannot be transferred between accounts, cannot be redeemed for cash, and are not your personal property. They are licensed to you for use only within the App. We may add, remove, or rebalance virtual items at our discretion.
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Submit refund requests through reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have the ability to override Apple’s refund decisions.
5. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, art, copy, and brand, is owned by Heroes Veritas and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.
You retain ownership of the choices and content you input as part of your hero’s journey (your hero name, Awakening profile, oaths, etc.). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely as needed to operate the App and provide it to you.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App or its content without our prior written permission.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what information we collect and how we use it. By using the App, you also agree to that policy.
7. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. If we terminate your account for a Terms violation, you forfeit unused virtual items without refund. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Dispute Resolution, Miscellaneous) will survive.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defects will be corrected.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HEROES VERITAS AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Heroes Veritas and its affiliates harmless from any claim, demand, or damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.
11. Dispute resolution and governing law
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at support@heroesveritas.com so we have an opportunity to resolve it informally.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and provide notice within the App. Material changes take effect for ongoing users after notice is given. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Heroes Veritas regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms; we may. Headings are for reference only and do not affect interpretation.
